We enjoy trekking in Bukit Tabur ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bukit_Tabur & have been going there regularly, we have many opportunities to meet different categories of trekking enthusiates.
We love this outdoor persuits, enjoy the fresh air , be curious about all that the mother nature offers just like anyone who goes there.
Of late, from among the steady increase in the number of trekkers coming to Bukit Tabur, we notice there are some who have come to take the journey so unprepared, we hope to encourage you to be more prepared the next time you come, in appropriate attire and shoes and bags, and the good attitude in trekking.
It is most heart-wrenching, to come across some trekkers with couldn't care attitude, ignorant that misadventure can happen, with arrogance and stubborness., some thought they are " hero " with gung-ho spirit, crawl so near to the cliff edge, purposely closer to the cliff, wanting to show their “ supposedly bravery ” to their friends.
These are the people, without realizing its grave peril & the potential risk, as well as danger of falling down the cliff vertical 100 to 150 meters below.
To us, these people are having bad attitude, this bad attitude might get them into troubles and endangering their own lives.

It’s always good reminder, no matter how much one runs marathons and put in many impressive trail miles, for every trek, the below is important
Prepareness before trekking is important,
Be careful in every step you take is important,
Safety is important,
Going in group or in buddy system is important,
etc...
etc...
Even though one may have gone the same trek many times, each trekking journey has risk of its own, thus this will come back to
It's important to...
It's important to ..
It's important to be careful at all times while enjoying the trekking
The feeling of distraught, helpless, and awful when we were face to face with this particular incident of accident on October 14, 08 spurs me to do something, from within my heart & ability, in the hope that this sharing will be beneficial or perhaps save life.
After some discussions, among the trekking buddies, it is our heartfelt intention, to take this opportunity to create awareness on the terrain of Bukit Tabur & some familiar path that we have been to many times, which we found it safe to thread on.
The information in the blogs are gathered through a period of two years,
most are our own trekking experiences,
some were our mistakes,
some are our observations
while some are common sense.........
