These are the important information when you want to contribute towards Leukimia Girl, Yeoh Yen Kee for her bone marrow transplant.

When you send cheque to Guang Ming Ribao S/B ( Charity Fund ),

kindly follow these instructions:

1. Issue a cheque to GUANG MING RIBAO Sdn. Bhd. (Charity Fund ).

2. Behind the cheque, please state beneficiary name's, in this case, Yeoh Yen Kee; and donor's details ie. Chinese/English name, NRIC, address and contact number.

3. Guang Ming Daily will mail the donor the official receipt for the contribution after clearance of the cheque. For cash donations, receipt will be issue immediately.

Guang Ming Daily will facilitate the contributions received and will liaise directly with the hospital on the payment of the costs. In the event there is any excess after the payments have been made, the balance of the donations received will be channeled to other charity project.

Charity for Leukemia Girl Yeoh Yen Kee

Mountaining climbing and Leukimia is totally two different things that doesn't seem to have a common denominator.

However, mountain climbers and trekkers do share something in common, that is they have a passion for nature and they persue health.

We are now in the process of organising a charity project to raise fund for a leukemia girl, Yeoh Yen Kee, as a contribution towards her bone marrow transplant.

How it works......
When will it be...?
To what cause are we spending our energy for ?
To what extend and what can we do to contribute ?
Will anyone responded to our call for help ?

What if it is not fruitful ???





What if nobody respond to this ????

........and the fear of uncertainty as well as unknown.





These are the questions that came across my mind when the plight of Yen Kee was highlighted.

If ever there is a comparison of what the family of Yen Kee gone through facing the challenges of getting their beloved daughter back to health, and imagine what have Yen Kee herself gone through, the above questions seem answered by itself.


Each & everyone of us has limited resources, in terms of time & money, put all the trekkers together, we can churn out a force to move mountain.



Can we do something to help ???

Fund Raising : Bone Marrow Transplant For Ms Yeoh Yen Kee

We are organising a fund raising project to raise fund for a leukemia girl, Yeoh Yen Kee, as a contribution towards her bone marrow transplant.





Target to do it in November, a total 4 weeks.

We will call upon people to donate and we will provide a service to take them up Bukit Tabur in Kuala Lumpur as a gesture of goodwill for their donation to Yen Kee.

How it works
1) Donors are to bank in the donation to Guangming Ribao's account.
2) Send us the proof or receipt to my e-mails and a team of others that will come in to help as volunteers. ( will keep inform )
3) we will coordinate to take donors up Bukit Tabur.

We had few would be trekkers that have never been up Bukit Tabur has indicated that they like our idea and we will expand this to others.


since we like mountain, we just do something extra for charity to help this leukemia girl.

1) donors who wants to do as a corporate body.



2) I have already received poitive response from our regular trekkers to Bukit tabur and some others experienced trekkers to come in to make this project a success.

We possibly will need to have a pool of volunteers to chip in for this project more interesting too.

Calling for leader/sweepers etc... with vast experience in mountain trekking especially Bukit tabur to come forward to help.

( we reserve the right to take in/reject candidates based on our own descretion for this purpose )

3) Other ways to help such as linking us to others to reach bigger audience with aim to solicit for donation for this fund raising purpose.

4) Donation amount : we do not set any pre-requisite for any donation amount for this fund raising, we are of the opinion that no matter how big/small is the donation, it's the heart that desire to help & love that counts.

助楊顏琦渡過難關。

優異生患血癌需20萬移植骨髓

（大山腳訊）大馬教育文憑11A優異生楊顏琦，因患上血癌而被迫放棄到捷克就讀醫學系。她在接受治療1年的化療後情況有好轉，原以為可以當醫生圓夢，詎料血癌再度復發，她目前急需20萬令吉進行骨髓移植手術。

楊顏琦（19歲）於去年5月證實患上血癌，在今年康復的她，萬萬沒想到自己在重獲健康短短兩週後，再度被癌魔纏上。

楊顏琦在家中排行第三，有一對兄姐及一個妹妹。父親楊亞華（62歲）雖然是一名建築承包商，為了女兒的病，他在過去一年半幾乎處於停工狀態。儲蓄幾近耗盡

楊顏琦先前在檳城醫院共花了約7至8萬令吉醫藥費，加上生活費及兄弟姐妹的求學費用，楊家已差不多耗盡儲蓄。

她病發後，醫生表示化療已無法壓制癌細胞，必須盡快進行骨髓移植手術。由於馬來西亞、新加坡及台灣都找不到適合她的骨髓，醫生只能往美國尋找，是本地比較罕見的例子。雖然已經找到骨髓，運輸費及骨髓費價格不菲，大約需要9萬美金（約31萬3200令吉），骨髓一旦抵馬，她即在安邦醫院進行手術。

這次的醫藥費估計需要20萬左右，對楊家來說是個重擔。他們希望社會熱心人士慷慨解囊，助楊顏琦渡過難關。

出國讀醫夢碎
楊顏琦原本獲得公共服務局獎學金資助，到捷克就讀醫學系，卻因為患癌而打碎了出國夢。她如今在日新國中就讀中六，所獲得的獎學金則獲準延遲一年，但日後只可以在馬來西亞繼續醫學課 程。

開朗的楊顏琦表示，她在患病初期非常難過，一度十分執著，終日以淚洗臉。在家人及朋友的鼓勵下，她漸漸學會以平常心看待，並感恩現在擁有的一切。
她指出，在患病期間目睹許多血癌病人離世，令她感慨萬分。她語帶哽咽地說，希望本身康復後可以繼續深造當醫生，將來幫助那些和她一樣遭遇的人。

Help Needed For Leukemia Girl 楊顏琦 Yeoh Yen Kee

Yeoh Yen Kee, a former Jit Sin student, who was diagnosed with Leukemia. She was one of the top students in Jit Sin, obtained 11As in SPM, and then she was offered JPA Scholarships to study abroad for medicine. However, due to her illness, she had to forgo her opportunities to study abroad.

Would like to call upon those who can afford to donate to support Yeoh Yen Kee.
